The Third Day of LIFT-mas
I don't know about you, but we are getting quite excited about the festive season this year, here at LIFT HQ! Especially as in 2011, we hit the big 3-0. So we thought what better way to see in the holidays, than with our very own 12 days of Christmas?
On the third day of LIFT-mas, my festival gave to me......
Three decades of LIFT
Next year, LIFT turns 30. (What’s that you say? We don’t look a day over 25? Well thanks very much!) From our humble beginnings in 1981, when Rose Fenton and Lucy Neal began the first festival working from a box room at the ICA, through to this year – the first full festival in 9 years, LIFT has hosted work by artists and companies including Complicité, Handspring Puppet Company, The Wooster Group, Fevered Sleep, Gob Squad & Rimini Protokoll, across the whole of London and from all over the world. Now we’ve come full circle- back home at the ICA, we’re plotting the next 30 years of LIFT. Feel free to drop in with birthday cake if you’re passing……
