LIFT takes part in the London-wide Olympic project - ‘The Biggest Learning Opportunity on Earth’
Between November 2010 and July 2011, LIFT will be work with 7 schools as part of ‘The Biggest Learning Opportunity on Earth?’ - an exciting, London-wide arts and education project, exploring the value of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games for young Londoners. Funded and delivered by A New Direction as part of the Creative Partnerships programme.
And The Winner Is… London
Would you like to look inside a special box which stores the memories of an amazing event?
Could these help you to make your own, new celebration; the memories of which you save in your own box for others to see?
Taking inspiration from the transformation nature of the Olympics and the way it has shone a spotlight on London. LIFT will be working with 7 primary and secondary schools across London to use LIFT Living Archive materials from our past transformative site specific shows as inspiration to create their own event in their school grounds. These shows will tell the world about their part of London. The work will be viewable on our website as well as will feature in the end of project festival featuring work from all 145 schools taking part in this project. The pupils will also archive their event for other people to use encouraging them to understand the specialness of seemingly ordinary things.
The schools LIFT are excited to be working with are:
Chestnut Grove School, Wandsworth
St Mary Magdalen’s Catholic Primary School, Lewisham
The Compton School, Barnet
The Elmgreen School, Lambeth
Wembley Primary School, Brent
Winchmore School, Enfield
Winston Way Primary School, Redbridge
