Sky Orchestra London Opening Flight
Images of Sky Orchestra's first ever flight across London.
To mark our 30th Birthday and the one year to go until the 2012 Olympics LIFT have teamed up with the Mayor of London to bring UK artist Luke Jerram's Sky Orchestra to the city. A fleet of seven hot air balloons flew as a floating orchestra, playing music specially composed by Dan Jones to delight and enthrall Londoners as it flies overhead. South East Londoners got a very special awakening this morning and the response has been astounding with astonoshing photographs. To gage the response you can visit LIFT's twitter feed or visit the Sky Orchestra website to track the balloons, retweets and images.
Huge thanks are due to Watershed for designing the Sky Orchestra website, Luke and Dan for such an awesome project and our partners the Greater London Authority to enabling us to make this happen.
LIFT presented SKY ORchestra as part of the IMAGINE 2020 network funded by the EU CUlture Fund.
Also a big thanks to Grange Hotels and the Ballymore group, who's support and enthusiasm supported us in celebrating LIFT's 30th!
