Macbeth: Leila and Ben - A bloody history
From the French/Tunisian company Artistes, Producteurs, Associés comes a new version of Macbeth, where Shakespeare’s malevolent tyrant and his wife are reincarnated as the equally diabolical, yet pathetically fallible modern-day duo, Leïla and Zine Ben Ali. Combining Shakespeare’s text with film and reportage, this production interrogates the way Arab leaders use, possess and perpetuate power.
