Whether or not you should work with children or animals isn’t the only theatrical ‘truth’ Alan Read will be considering in his lecture 20/20 Vision: Seeing Through Theatre.

Inspired by Societas Raffaelo Sanzio’s theatrical work with children and the drawings and writings of zoologist Adolf Portmann, Read takes a look at whether anthropomorphism in drama can broaden our vision of not just theatre but also the wider world. The author and professor of theatre studies at Kings College London will also address the challenges and contradictions presented by the movement he identifies as ‘the new enthusiasm’.
