‘Biodiversity’ might be a buzzword in academia, but what does it really mean for farmers, scientists, artists and the wider world? For this lecture commissioned by LIFT, the British Council and the Museum Of National History, environmentalist and activist Dr. Vandana Shiva makes a case for ‘biodiversity’ as a means of grass-roots resistance against global corporations’ monopoly on resources. By highlighting the role culture can play in this struggle, she shares her belief that art and science should not be polarised but can forge a stronger future together. Part of LIFT’s Creative Commons Lecture Series.
